The youth ministry is devoted to discipling students for the purpose of helping them have closer relationships with God and ultimately to go out and make other disciples.
At New Hope we believe that God has given the primary responsibility for the discipleship of children to parents. Statistics documenting the number of young people leaving church after high school are staggering. Our goal at New Hope is to come alongside parents through the ONE BRICK Personal Discipleship Ministry, providing a place where they themselves may grow deeper in their faith, learn the essentials of the Christian life and ultimately pass on those eternal truths to their teenage children. Feel free to come by and check us out!
God knows best. The greatest youth group, the most gifted youth pastor and the most engaging curriculum cannot begin to approach the power of a godly parent discipling his or her own teen. Therefore, youth ministry at New Hope is designed to supplement–not replace home discipleship. Home discipleship need not be a complicated, time consuming or costly affair. One does NOT need a theology degree to disciple one’s children. A parent consistently making time for a short ‘bible study’ with their teen and living a godly life of integrity before them is more powerful than any youth group ever could be.
“You shall therefore lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise”
Deuteronomy 11:18
